History of the Program

Pontotoc County Literacy Coalition, a non-profit entity operating solely on Grants and Donations, was established in 1984 through a program funded by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries called, “Oklahoma, Do You Read Me?” to address the need for enhanced Literacy skills in Pontotoc County and surrounding areas. The program is currently governed by a Board of Directors who follow a set of by-laws that are periodically reviewed and revised to stay current with the immediate needs of the community.
